Sam you brought laughter and joy to everyone you came into contact with. When me and Ol first met you, you met us both with a smile. We never saw that smile fade, not when you started your battle or at any point after. In the 4 years I’ve known Sam I don’t think I heard her complain once, she was always a beacon of positivity and she spread that feeling to people around her. Ol is going to miss showing you his trick of the week or coming for his little natter in between periods at games. We’ll do our best to fill your vocal shoes and keep block 3 loud for you. I’m ever so grateful that we had the privilege of knowing you Sam – our lives will forever be better for it.

Like many others here, I knew Sam from our time together working at the University of Leeds. I only worked with Sam for just over a year but during that time she took me under her wing (as she always did with new people) to make sure I felt welcomed and part of the team. She was so kind and thoughtful and super quick witted and funny. She was amazing at her job (you could tell how much pride she took in her work) and she could be firm when she needed to be, but knew how to have a laugh too. She always went that extra mile (Easter egg hunts!) and I hope she knew how much that meant to everyone. The outpouring of love everyone has shown Sam during the last few years shows the massive impact she’s had on so many people. She will be incredibly missed but she will never be forgotten ❤️

Sam was a wonderful person, so lovely, kind, thoughtful and funny, and I will treasure my memories of working with her. As a little anecdote, I remember Sam handing out advent calendars to everyone in our EC Stoner office, which shows how generous and thoughtful she was, and that she was indeed pure sunshine to be around. I also remember exchanging stories with her around German christmas customs which she was of course so familiar with. Lots of love from Anja xxx

I feel so lucky to have known Sam. As well as being naturally amazing at her job, she was a ray of sunshine, always so kind and thoughtful, always so positive, a great listener. I loved our early morning chats in the office. And despite everything she went through, she always asked how you were. Everyone should have a Sam in their life. My favourite thing about Sam was, if you were lucky enough to be her friend she was fiercely loyal and always showed up for you. She spent so much time making sure people she cared about were okay and always had a smile for everyone. If there were more people in the world like Sam it would be a better place.

It’s been such a long time since I worked with you, Sam - around six years - but I’ve never forgotten how warm, welcoming, kind, happy and wonderful you were to work alongside. You made the Leeds Uni office feel like a home for everyone. Your bubbly personality and zest for life always shone through. And you also introduced me to the joys of Leeds Knights and live ice hockey too…what more could a person ask for? I only passed through your life but you made such a lasting impression. My childhood memories are you Sam and my gosh I have so many and I will cherish them always ❤️ horse riding every week when we were young your pony melody what an experience she would throw you around the paddock and absolutely fearless you would get back on and carry on whilst I stuck with topper the calm pony 😂 and when we wernt horse riding we would pretend to horse ride around old Goole park this makes me smile, I could write a book of memories. Letters you used to write to me when I moved to wales I still have, and throughout your battle whenever we spoke you always always asked how my parents were because that’s you isn’t it ❤️ You will always always have a place in my heart Sam lots of love always Jade ❤️

With a heavy heart, I remember Sam, a radiant soul who brought so much light into my life. Over the years, our paths intertwined as we celebrated life's milestones together, sharing laughter and stories every eight weeks. In those moments, she became more than just a client; she became a cherished friend. The grief I feel is unique, as I mourn someone who profoundly touched my life, yet whose world I didn’t fully know. Sam was a true pillar of strength, always uplifting those around her with her positivity and warmth. Despite the challenges she faced, her spirit remained unbroken, and she never failed to ask how I was doing, even in her own difficult moments. Her messages were a source of encouragement, filled with kindness and hope. I will miss her infectious smile and the way she inspired everyone she met to see the beauty in life. Rest in peace, dear Sam. You will be so, so sadly missed. Thank you for being a part of my life. Your light will forever shine in my heart.

Samantha oh what a shining light you were. Your smile will last for ever together with your amazing personality. You came into our life four and a half years ago and were part of so much fun. Your courage and strength through your illness was inspiring. We weren’t allowed to show any pity in your eyes, we had to behave like we always did. All I wanted to do was give you a big hug. Will miss you deeply and will look to the right at ice hockey games remembering you bellowing “ Let’s go Leeds Knights, let’s go. Sleep well Sam, never forgotten x.
